THE PROCESS
Highly effective and non abrasive
At Evolution Dry Ice we have 100% confidence in our dry ice cleaning equipment. There is no better way to safely clean the various surfaces of your vehicle using this highly effective, non abrasive process. There is no need to use water, steam, chemicals or abrasives when dry ice can achieve the same, or even better results with none of the associated drawbacks. Intricate components and electrical connectors would usually require solvents or degreasers to be worked in with brushes. Significant time and effort can be saved by using dry ice, achieving the same result in seconds with none of the drawbacks such as liquid getting into sensors. It is perfectly safe to use on delicate areas such as the engine bay, vehicle interior and is especially suited to cleaning vehicle undersides when using higher power settings. Dry ice will also remove layers of oxidation on plastics, restoring them to their original factory finish which will last far longer than any 'trim restorer'.
Dry ice is frozen CO2 and contains no water. When blasted at a surface using our cleaning machines the dry ice is at approximately -80oC, this causes thermal shock and flash freezes the dirt. The CO2 returns to a gaseous state on contact with the vehicle surface, increasing in volume by around 800 times, these effects combined with the kinetic energy from the compressed air propelling the dry ice lift the dirt and contaminants from the surface safely and efficiently. This process, specifically the extreme cold, can be very effective in reducing bacteria such as mould, making it ideal for decontamination or removing odours.
The dry ice cleaning machines we use here at Evolution Dry Ice are perfect for removing dirt and contaminants from hard-to-reach areas. The process is nonabrasive and safe to use on all vehicle materials. Factory stickers and paint marks are left untouched with careful use, making it ideal for classics where the most value is retained in a car’s originality. There is no residual waste after cleaning apart from dust to vacuum up, meaning there is no liquid run off contamination into sewers or watercourses.
Dry ice cleaning is a perfect way of removing loose rust from a vehicle underside and to prepare the surface prior to corrosion treatment and undersealing. Keeping the underside of your vehicle clean and protected from debris, road grime and salt will potentially increase its serviceable life by preventing rust from propagating or even gaining a foothold in the first place. If you want to take advantage of our free, no obligation inspection service, take a look at the underside of your vehicle on our lift and discuss treatment options please get in touch.
